you get a lot out of an Alpha
Course.
Alpha takes place up to three times per year and runs one day a week for ten weeks. Announcements concerning

Alpha course provides an opportunity to explore
the validity and relevance of the Christian faith for our lives today. It
presents a
practical introduction to the basics of Christianity with much opportunity
for consideration and debate. The style of Alpha is informal, friendly, and
non-pressured.
Each week, Alpha participants gather together for a meal
then watch a video hosted by Nicky Gumbel on one of the topics listed below.

Small group discussion follows each video. Discussion begins with the topic
presented in the tape. It then continues into the participants' experience or
view of that topic.
In addition, participants enjoy a day
or weekend retreat midway through the course which focuses on the person and
work of the Holy Spirit. During the retreat, several video and discussion
sessions take place.
