Highlights for the month of September
- Mission of the Month -
Festival of Sharing
The Festival of Sharing at Grace collects items for Personal Hygiene
Kits. These kits goes to shelters, crisis centers, and other
ministries in Missouri. The items can be contributed as complete
kits or as individual pieces. Money given helps to defray shipping
and other expenses. To spread the cost, you can bring selected items
during a week. You can also bring all items at any time.
- Week 1: 1 fluoride toothpaste (6 oz or more), 1 toothbrush
in its original packaging.
- Week 2 - 1 bottle skin lotion (11-14 oz), 1 bottle shampoo
(11-14 oz).
- Week 3 - 1 wash cloth, 1 hand towel, and 1 bath-size bar of
soap.
- Week 4 - 1 hair brush, 1 deodorant, 2 disposable razors.
- Monthly Events:
- Labor Day - Monday the 6th.
- Rally Day - Ministries and committees of Grace present displays
describing themselves on Sunday the 12th. If one interests you, think about joining.
- Grace Cares - Meets Wednesday the 22nd.
- Recurring Events:
- Men's Group - meets the first Saturday of the month at 8 am.
- National Association for the Mentally Ill (N.A.M.I.) - meets the first and third Tuesdays at 7 pm.
- Power of Prayer - Meets each Monday at 7 pm.
- Crafty Ladies - Meets each Thursday at 9 am.
- Pillow Talk - Meets the last Sunday of the month after second service (12:15 pm). Please come to help stuff pillows for surgical
patients at Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital.
- Bible Study - Meets every Thursday evening at 6:30
pm
in the outer office. To participate, you only need to bring yourself and your curiosity. You need no prior knowledge since this will be a relaxed
learning experience. This is your opportunity to ask questions to get to know
Christ, and to learn amongst friends. If you do not have a Bible, one will be
available to you.
- Square Dance Lessons - meets each Wednesday
evening at 7 pm.
Upcoming Events
- Homeless Awareness Day -
NECAC is planning a homeless awareness day for late August or early September. They need volunteers from faith based organizations to help at the event. This basically is a "resource fair" connecting people going through job loss, foreclosure, etc. More to come.
- Emmaus House with Taste of Home Magazine -
will host a cooking school on November 13 at First Christian Church
in Washington, Missouri. For more information, click
